Every construction project in Norway must pass through regulated compliance phases before work begins. Each phase produces large volumes of documents that had to be reviewed and cross-referenced against government standards entirely by hand. As projects grew larger, the process became impossible to scale.
The Problem
- Manual FDV Classification Was Slow: Before any compliance analysis could begin, documents had to be sorted against hundreds of government-defined building components - a step that took weeks and depended entirely on the reviewer's attention, creating inconsistencies between projects.
- Compliance Checks Consumed Months: After classification, teams had to cross-reference every document against thousands of regulatory requirements. Doing this thoroughly was essential to avoid costly failures later, but it made this the most time-consuming part of the project lifecycle.
