Introduction

Hyperpure, a Zomato initiative, revolutionizes restaurant supply chains by offering a tech-enabled platform for sourcing fresh, quality ingredients. The company streamlines procurement, ensures food safety, and optimizes logistics to help restaurants deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Originally called WOTU ("We Organize the Unorganized"), Hyperpure launched in 2013 to connect farmers and food producers directly with restaurants while eliminating intermediaries. The 2018 acquisition by Zomato created scaling challenges requiring robust digital infrastructure. Promact Infotech was engaged to develop a transformative mobile app and web portal.

The Problem

  1. Forecasting: Manual stock estimation proved difficult; perishable products required precise quantity predictions for restaurant orders
  2. Inventory Management: High order volumes combined with inaccurate forecasting caused inventory shortages, leading to cancelled orders and customer dissatisfaction
  3. Product (SKU) Management: Cumbersome onboarding and cataloguing created confusion; efficient barcoding and product lifecycle management were essential
  4. Reports: Lack of reporting functionality prevented insights into delivery tracking, purchase orders, inventory, and GST compliance

Objective: Design and develop a B2B mobile app (iOS & Android) and web portal enabling restaurateurs to order quality supplies at affordable prices with hassle-free delivery.

The Solution

  • Forecasting Feature: A new forecast feature was built based on past ordering trends to estimate inventory more accurately and help fulfill orders on any given day
  • Inventory Management: Developed real-time logic-oriented plug-in with stock-checking functionality calculating ordered stock for specific dates, preventing overstocking of perishables
  • SKU Management: Streamlined product lifecycle management with barcoding, simplified onboarding, and cataloguing processes ensuring fresh products while reducing excess inventory
  • Reports Feature: Added comprehensive data-driven reporting for order delivery, purchases, inventory, and GST tracking
